Bpifrance tightens economic relations with EBID
Bpifrance and the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) have signed a cooperation agreement in Abidjan at the beginning of March 2022.
A new partnership for Bpifrance! This memorandum of understanding between the public investment bank and the EBID strengthens economic relations and develop co-industrialisation objectives between West African States and France.
What is exactly EBID? EBID, owned by fifteen member states of the Economic Community of West African States, is the financial arm of the Economic Community of West African States. EBID is involved in financing development projects and programs in the infrastructure and basic equipment, rural development and environment, industry and social services sectors through its private and public sector windows. Through this agreement, EBID and Bpifrance are planning to develop a strategic cooperation by supporting projects of French and Africans firms. Nicolas Dufourcq, CEO of Bpifrance stressed that “we are glad to bring endless support to our entrepreneurs in all West Africa by signing this agreement with EBID. It will promote fruitful and sustainable partnerships between our entrepreneurs.”
Developing joint projects between France and West African States
Through this cooperation, the partners want to identify opportunities and develop joint projects designed to facilitate interactions between companies. It is aimed at generating business flows on both sides: support for exports, business missions, qualified networking, creation of ecosystems conducive to entrepreneurship and investment. The agreement will enable French companies to develop their exports to this large zone: in every country of West Africa except for Mauritania.
