Bpifrance and its partners launch the Accélérateur Nucléaire: a unique opportunity to support the growth of SMEs and ETIs in the sector

To meet the challenges of revitalising the nuclear industry in France, Bpifrance, in collaboration with the Direction Générale des Entreprises and partners in the nuclear sector, has launched the first class of the Accélérateur Nucléaire. This 18-month programme brings together 30 French companies to help them meet the challenges facing their sector and accelerate their growth. Against a backdrop of increasing international competition, it offers nuclear companies a unique framework for structuring their growth, boosting their competitiveness, attracting new talent and adapting to changes in the market. By focusing on training, advice and the development of solid networks, the Accélérateur Nucléaire enables managers to take a step back from their strategy and build a more robust and innovative company in a context of increased international competition.

The programme aims to boost the competitiveness of companies in a sector undergoing major change

The French nuclear sector is characterised by a diversity of players, including major groups, SMEs and start-ups. Companies in this sector need to adapt to rapid growth, achieve critical mass, improve their operational performance, attract and retain talent, and incorporate geopolitical and environmental changes into their strategy. The Nuclear Accelerator has been designed to help these companies navigate this complex and competitive environment.

Intensive, tailored support to unlock each company’s growth potential

The 30 companies selected will benefit from structured support to encourage innovation and the development of new skills:

  • Diagnosis and personalised advice: Each company will carry out a diagnosis to identify its growth priorities and access advice modules tailored to its size and ambitions.
  • Training with experts: Managers will take part in six seminars co-constructed with École Polytechnique Executive Education, covering key themes such as strategy, energy transition, financing, governance and leadership.
  • Meetings and networking: As part of the programme, participants will attend 6 days dedicated to the challenges facing the sector and will have access to the 5,000 companies in the Bpifrance Accelerators network, facilitating exchanges and the sharing of best practice.

Selection criteria aligned with the needs of the civil nuclear industry

The Accelerator is open to companies in the civil nuclear sector that have sales of more than €2 million or have raised an equivalent amount of capital over the past three years. Companies must also have at least 10 employees, have been in existence for more than three years, and conduct at least 20% of their business in the nuclear sector. The programme is co-financed by the French Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty.
