With its “Plan Touch”, Bpifrance supports French creativity. La French Touch is the flagship of French creation and creativity, and represents French Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI). In 2020, 1.5 billion Euros have been allocated to this community so far.
French Art de vivre, La French Touch is one of the last communities Bpifrance has created. The orange rooster aims at supporting French Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI), that gathers 6 fields: cinema and the audiovisual sector, fashion and design, video games, publishing, visual arts and lifestyle, music and performing arts. With its “Plan Touch”, the French public investment bank wishes to promote creative innovation and contribute to a more diversified artistic and cultural landscape, but also to promote it globally.
Encouraging “à la Française” creations to become global
With this new community, Bpifrance has extended its accelerator program offer to this very Frenchy sector. Earlier this year, three accelerator programs were launched for the players of three major sectors: video games, fashion and design, cinema and audiovisual. These accelerator programs meet the needs of these companies by identifying the challenges they’re facing, guiding them to rethink their strategy and to adopt new ones, including international vision. They are built around three pillars: training, consulting and advice, and networking. Accelerated companies can meet and exchange with their peers, and participate to collective and individual consulting sessions with experts of this sector.
Extending the French public investment bank offers to the cultural and creative industries
This international vision is included in a more broad plan that includes all main Bpifrance offers: financing, grants, R&D innovation loans, guarantees, a loan dedicated to CCI actors, … Bpifrance plans to increase the skills of all of its business lines to meet the needs of the many sectors included in the creative industries.
Bpifrance also supports these industries all along their development by accelerating equity investment as well as fund of funds. With all these tools, the French public investment bank aims at many goals:
- See new brands emerge, as well as innovative and creative projects.
- Accompany Tech & Touch start-ups in their growth.
- Develop and strengthen the CCI sector’s independent workers in development capital.
A portfolio of around thirty companies is currently active, with holdings in companies such as La Bouche Rouge, Brut, Mediawan, Chamatex, etc.
La French Touch will participate in big international events all around the world, in 2021 and 2022: Dubai’s Expo 2020, through missions like its partnership with Saks on New York’s 5th Avenue, and though delegations in Japan, China (Shanghai) and Nigeria.
