The Rixain Law: a commitment to gender equality in companies
Adopted in December 2021, the Rixain Law imposes gender quotas and transparency measures to promote gender equality in large companies. By 2029, companies with over 1,000 employees must ensure that at least 30% of their senior executives and members of governance bodies are women by March 1st, 2026, rising to 40% by March 1st, 2029. Additionally, the law requires companies with 50 or more employees to publish annually their Gender Equality Index, which undergoes rigorous monitoring process. This initiative aims to reduce gender disparities and foster greater inclusion within leadership teams.
